Abstract
This paper attempts to describe management education and training in Japan, both inside and outside the enterprise. It particularly emphasises the latter as it is usually relatively neglected in the literature. It looks at undergraduate and postgraduate courses, selected business schools and post-experience training programmes. It concludes that convergence with Western-style management education and training is unlikely in the near future, at least.
