Abstract
An efficient method for the synthesis of novel 5-phenylsulfonyl substituted 4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridines from 5-aminopyrazoles, aldehydes and β-ketosulfones in refluxing acetic acid is described. The X-ray crystallographic structure of the product was determined.
