Abstract
A new coordination polymer [Zn(phon)(H2O)2(OH)]·(ClO4)·2H2O (phon=1,10-phenathrolinedione) has been synthesised and its photoluminescence is reported. Its X-ray structure shows it to have octahedral coordination and be stabilised by π—π stacking and hydrogen bonding. 1,10-Phenanthroline and its derivatives play important roles in supramolecular assemblies.
