The syntheses and crystal structures of [Co(m-NCS)2(nicH)2]·(nicH), [Ni(NCS)2(H2O)2(isonicH)2]·(isonicH)·2H2O are reported, where nicH is nicotinic acid; isonicH is isonicotinic acid. In the crystals of the two complexes, (iso)nicotinic acids are not deprotonated and thus the carboxy groups act as both donors and acceptors of H-bonds to form networks.
