Abstract
A variety of thioacetal (2) are deprotected to parent carbonyl compounds (3) using 1-butyl-4-aza-1-azoniabicyclo[2.2.2] octane dichromate (BABOD) (1) in the presence of AlCl3 in refluxing CH3CN.
