Abstract
2H-1,2,4-Benzothiadiazine 1,1-dioxides are prepared in good yields via reductive cyclisation of N,N-diethyl-o-nitrobenzenesulfonamides with appropriate nitriles promoted by SmI2 under mild and neutral conditions.
