Abstract
An intramolecular hydrogen transfer from the chloroacetoxy group has been shown to occur in the hydrolysis of the sesquiterpenoid derivative, 5β-chloroacetoxy-15-norpanasinsan-8-one leading to the formation of 5ββ,8α-dihydroxy-15-norpanasinsane.
