Abstract
The microwave-assisted solvent-free reaction of benzil with aromatic amines (in 1: 2 molar ratio) on an alumina surface for 4 min affords benzil diimines (1,2,3,4-tetraaryl-1,4-diaza-1,3-butadienes).
