Abstract
Summary
The reported experiments have demonstrated that: (1) various strains of vaccinia virus after intracerebral injection regularly produced tonic convulsions in mice; (2) at least one of these strains (NYBH) multiplied extensively in the brains of the mice; (3) mice were protected from the tonic convulsions and death caused by intracerebral injections of vaccinia virus, if they had recived a prior injection of either heated influenza virus or heated vaccinia virus.
