Abstract
Summary
The recovery of a strain of Rickettsia akari from mouse mites, Allodermanyssus sanguineus (Hirst), collected in West Hartford, Connecticut, is described. The evidence for its identification as R. akari is presented, and certain implications of these findings are discussed.
