Summary
Manganous ion, 0.0001 M, hastened activation of crude prothrombokinase in a 3-stage analysis of blood coagulation. It did not prevent the subsequent steep decline of thrombokinase activity. Rapid quenching of thrombokinase activity might help in the physiologic control of blood clotting.
