Summary
Synthetic pyridoxine was converted to pseudopyridoxine by treatment with hydrogen peroxide and by autoclaving in a cystine solution. Pseudopyridoxine formed in this manner and that found in autoclaved yeast extract did not stimulate yeast or rat growth.
