Abstract
Conclusions
Various strains of Staphylococcus aureus differ in their susceptibility to the action of tyrothricin. It is possible to increase the resistance of staphylococci to tyrothricin by growing the organism in increasing concentrations of the bactericidal substance. In one patient treated with tyrothricin there was a marked increased resistance of the infecting organism after several weeks of therapy.
