Abstract
Summary
1. The volume of nitrogen excreted from the body by way of the lungs, when a subject breathes pure oxygen for short periods, is found to vary with the size of the individual. 2. The nitrogen excretion during 7 minutes of oxygen breathing has been determined in 30 normal individuals of various ages and sizes. The values obtained have been correlated with body weight and with surface area. Coefficients of correlation and regression equations are given.
