Abstract
Summary
The protoporphyrin which Van den Bergh and Hyman discovered in the red blood cells, has been found to reside chiefly, if not solely, in the reticulocytes. Brilliant cresyl blue and protoporphyrin are mutually precipitable; whether this reaction is responsible for the supravital staining of reticulocytes remains to be determined.
