In several human tissue extracts, including toxic thyroid tissue and carcinomatous tissue, depressor substances were found not to be present in unusual amounts. The major part of the depressor substance present in these tissue extracts does not acr like acetylcholine or histamine when tested for effect on the blood pressure of atropinized rabbits.
