Abstract
Summary
African green-monkey kidney cell clones partially resistant to SV40 have been isolated in viral-specific anti-serum from chronically infected cultures. These clones were virus-free and produced no T antigen. One clone was found to be partially resistant to infection with SV40 virions but susceptible to infection by SV40 DNA. Chronically infected cultures were cured of infection by treatment with SV40 anti-serum while maintaining their partial resistance to SV40.
