Abstract
Conclusion
Cell replication is perturbed in the rat ileal crypt cells and spleen lymphocytes following 5 days of HN2, MTX or HC. At the dosage levels employed HN2 produces leukopenia, MTX causes anemia and HC does not affect the blood count. Histologically there is a loss of spleen lymphocytes following the administration of each of the drugs. Methotrexate also causes flattening of the intestinal villi without evidence of necrosis.
