Effect of Human Serum B 12 Binders on Uptake of Vitamin B 12 by Isolated Perfused Rat Liver 1

Abstract

Summary

⁵⁷Co B₁₂-labeled TCII and MPPB prepared from normal human donors and pernicious anemia patients, exhibited a higher uptake by perfused rat liver than ⁵⁷Co B₁₂-labeled TCI. This is consistent with faster plasma clearance of radioactivity following intravenous injection of ⁵⁷Co B₁₂ bound to TCII and MPPB in normal human subjects, compared to a slower clearance of TCI B₁₂.
