Abstract
Summary
Reactivation of heated IHD vaccinia virus was accomplished by the addition of either untreated or irradiated WR vaccinia. The irradiated WR virus which was unable to produce pocks on the CAM was nonetheless capable of providing the un-coating function for heat-inactivated IHD virus. Irradiation decreased both the reactivating ability and the infectivity of the WR virus but the reactivating ability was more resistant to irradiation than was infectivity.
