Abstract
Summary
Vaccinia virus yields were decreased from cells previously chronically infected with M. arginini but not M. hyorhinis. This decrease was found to be a result of utilization of arginine from the medium by this mycoplasma. When added arginine was incorporated, vaccinia yields were the same as in cells not infected by mycoplasma. Thus, vaccinia virus was found to be arginine dependent.
