Abstract
Summary
Two consecutive carbon colloidal clearances were carried out on axenic adult C3H/J mice, thymectomized at birth. No difference was found between thymectomized and control mice. It is emphasized that the hyperactivity of the RES after thymectomy reported by others is not dependent on thymectomy itself, but on subclinical infections occurring at an early stage of the life of holoxenic thymectomized animals.
