Summary
Irradiated vaccinia virus preparations increase in pock titer when the virus particles are subsequently induced to aggregate. Measurements by electron microscopy of the degree and mode of aggregation indicate the operation of a highly efficient multiplicity reactivation of the virus in the cells of the CAM. There is evidence for penetration of the cell and pock production by groups of 5 or more virus particles.
