Abstract
Summary
Spectrophotometric analyses of myoglobin from crude muscle extracts of chicken breast muscle show an increase (35%) of reduced myoglobin, and a decrease (17%) of metmyoglobin in dystrophic muscle from hereditary dystrophic chickens when compared with normal controls. This may reflect a disruption of intracellular oxygen supply and demand.
