Summary
Iron absorption as measured by tissue radioactivity is impaired in bilaterally nephrectomized rats. These animals still show increased absorption, however, when subjected to reduced atmospheric pressure or oxygen tension, a situation very similar to that seen with hypophysectomized animals.
