Abstract
Summary
Rabbit antisera to human cerebrospinal fluid, after “absorption” with human serum, have been shown to react with various human biological fluids. The reactions have been studied by immunoelectrophoresis and double diffusion in agar, and have revealed the presence of 2 trace proteins of β and γ electrophoretic mobility. Both proteins, “βtrace”- and “γtrace”-, were found in CSF, urine and ascitic fluid, while the γtrace-protein was also demonstrated in serum and pleural fluid. Exhaustive absorption of the antiserum to CSF with human serum removed the antibody to the γtrace-protein.
