Summary
The activities of carbamyl phosphate synthetase, ornithine transcarbamylase and arginase have been found to be unchanged in regenerating liver of thyroidectomized rats. Complete thyroidectomy results in an impaired rate of liver regeneration. Daily injection of thyroxine during the regeneration period restores the capacity of the liver to regenerate.
