Summary
A modified heparin has been prepared. This heparin derivative has undergone slight methylation and partial de-sulfation. Anticoagulant activity was retained, and limited absorption from duodenum of dogs as measured by systemic anticoagulant effect occurred following instillation of the modified heparin in buffer solutions of pH 5, 6, and 7.
