This study examined how variations in diversity of work unit affect managers' styles of handling conflict Analysis indicated managers of technical work units were more likely than managers of support staffs and middle-line managers to use the aggressive style of conflict with subordinates. Middle-line managers were more likely than managers of technical and support staff work units to use the avoidance style, whereas managers of support staffs were more likely to use the accommodation style.
