Abstract
The purpose of the study was to develop a valid and reliable scale, that is not age dependent, which can be used to measure involvement with fashion goods. The behavioral scale was developed testing full-time working women who ranged in age from 18 to 65 years as well as undergraduate women from a midwestern campus. Factor analysis and a scree diagram were used to extract a single-factor eight-item scale that appears to be both valid and reliable. Convergent validity of the scale was also established through correlations with Zaichkowsky's Personal Involvement Inventory.
