Personal interviews from 125 respondents representing 14 different leisure locations indicated that in the southern USA African-American adults are generally satisfied with their lives and find their leisure to be an important part of a successful life. Yet, 46% also noted recent incidents of racial discrimination which influenced the quality of their leisure experiences.
