This study was conducted to examine whether there is still a need for the university-level, introductory microcomputer applications in business course based on students' perceptions of their own knowledge. Data were collected from 234 students in the summers of 1992 and 1996. Students' low ratings of perceived knowledge indicated there is still a need for the course.
