Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether experienced shooters would benefit from using the Five-step Strategy while performing in their shooting environment. Experienced shooters (N = 24) were randomly assigned to one of two conditions, the Five-step or a control. Absolute and variable errors were analyzed by 2 × 4 (groups × trial blocks) analyses of variance with repeated measures on trial blocks. Subjects in the group using the Five-step Strategy performed significantly better than the control group in both accuracy and variability of shooting performance.
