Abstract
This study examined the effect of expectations on 116 students' satisfaction with a university facility. Lowered expectations and subjects' awareness of remodeling plans for the interior of a facility were analyzed in relation to over-all satisfaction with the facility and separate interior aspects. The main hypothesis, that lowered expectations would decrease satisfaction with the facility, was not supported. Expectations as operationalized here had no effect on either over-all satisfaction or on satisfaction with individual aspects.
