A new measure Ap is introduced for estimating density in spatial ecological studies. The measure is constructed from the ratio of the area of a convex hull relative to a reference containing region. The measurement of the area is demonstrated with the Surveyor's Area Formula, Hero's Formula, and Pick's Theorem. Research applications of the measure are outlined.
