Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to examine multistage decision strategies in a decision task with different numbers of alternatives and attributes 25 university student subjects were informed about seven different decision strategies while making decisions in several experimental conditions and were asked to report the use of the strategies. A protocol analysis indicated that decision strategies changed over time and that multistage decision strategies were more frequently observed on the task for which the numbers of alternatives and attributes were larger.
