Abstract
Disguising the slant of one's handwriting is a fairly simple exercise; however, in handwriting copies the slant often diverges significantly from that of the model. In this study 36 subjects had to disguise their normal writing slant and up to two other characteristics of their handwriting simultaneously. The likelihood of the divergence of the slant from the model grew with the increasing difficulty of the disguising task: the slant tended towards uprightness, as is also found in handwriting copies.
