Abstract
To assess factors which affect college executives' perceptions of information sources, 155 executives at 16 universities were surveyed. The perception of an information source was positively correlated with the frequency of use of that source. Women had a more positive perception of formal information sources than did men. Men and women had more positive perceptions of external sources than of internal sources. Executives in academic affairs had more positive perceptions of all information sources than did executives in business affairs. The executives' risk-taking propensity and dogmatism were inversely correlated with perceptions of all sources of information.
