A series of studies examined the effectiveness of using a group of standardized tests to predict job performance for microassemblers. Subjects included groups of microassemblers (n = 25) and comparison groups of non-assembly workers (n = 15) and students (n = 24). Analysis indicated that scores on a battery of manual dexterity tests and a measure of arithmetic skills were related to ability to perform delicate and somewhat demanding micro-assembly jobs.
