Abstract
As a follow-up to the 1984 work of Weiner and Kippel, national percentiles for California Achievement Test (CAT) and Degrees of Reading Power (DRP) test scores were examined for more than 2,000 students in each of Grades 3 through 9. For CAT grade equivalent and comparable DRP-Unit scores, corresponding national percentiles differed in most instances. Caution is suggested when comparing national percentiles from one standardized test to another, because differences may not necessarily reflect substantive differences in reading performance.
