The present study examined the relation between will-to-win scores and athletic performance for 18 female basketball teams who participated in a 3-day tournament. Players completed a 14-item will-to-win questionnaire prior to tournament play. Various measures of basketball performance were analyzed. The results yielded correlations between will to win and both points scored and margin-of-win.
