The Thumin Test of Mental Dexterity and the WAIS were administered to 75 student volunteers and vocational/career counseling clients, using a counterbalanced order. The product-moment correlation between the tests was .84, suggesting that the Thumin Test may be used as a convenient substitute for the WAIS when time is limited, and subjects are of average or higher intelligence. A table was provided for converting Thumin raw scores to WAIS sums of scaled scores (Full Scale).
