The effect of concurrent activity on strategies in copying designs by 144 normal subjects, 20- to 30-yr.-old, was investigated. In a verbal-interference condition subjects proved to be more inclined to use an analytic strategy rather than a global one. An interfering musical task did not exert any effect on the strategy. These findings are discussed in terms of a possible relationship between planning activity and linguistic processing.
