32 Brunswik schematic faces, formed from combinations of features associated with responses of Good, Bad, Happy and Sad, were rated on Good-Bad and Happy-Sad scales by British undergraduates, and school children from Britain, Hong Kong, and Zambia. All groups responded in similar ways to the faces. Omitting pupils from the faces shifted ratings towards the Bad and the Sad ends of the scales.
