The purpose of the investigation was to assess sex differences in creative abilities for 1,250 students drawn from VIII Standard (232 boys, 297 girls) and IX Standard (389 boys, 332 girls). Mehdi's verbal and figural tests of creative thinking were used to measure creative ability. The study showed that boys significantly outperform girls on different dimensions of verbal and figural tests of creative thinking. Results are discussed in terms of social and cultural context.
