Abstract
A word-count of 25-response Rorschach protocols (28 men, 33 women) was used to measure degree of fixation in orality, sadism, and anality. Oral, sadistic, and anal words were often projected briefly on a patterned screen in conditions designed to yield 50% hit rates. It was hypothesized that anality would correlate with over-all hit rates, while fixation in a specific area would correlate with a higher threshold for that content. Data confirmed the relationship between anality and over-all hit rates, while no relationship appeared between specific fixation and content threshold.
