Temporal test-taking factors associated with the Rorschach white space response were investigated employing the individually administered protocols of 116 medical students. The temporal response rates of DS and DDS were examined separately against the response rate expectancies of D and DD, respectively. Response rates for both space response categories did not differ from these expectancies, countering claims that S is an artifact associated with longer blot viewing.
