Sensory image scores that were obtained from 91 blind and 91 sighted adolescents aged 10 to 21 yr. were classified into seven sensory categories (visual, auditory, cutaneous, kinesthetic, gustatory, olfactory, symbolic, and organic sensations) according to a shortened form of the Betts Questionnaire Upon Mental Imagery. Blind adolescents were not restricted in the formation of visual images nor did the relative ordering of the sensory categories differ as a function of ability to see.
