Abstract
Examination of the geographical sources of 183 Master's theses and 483 doctoral dissertations awarded by American universities between 1950 and 1974 suggested that the choice of authoritarianism as the subject of scientific study may be somewhat more culture-bound for the writers of theses than for the writers of dissertations.
