In classroom exercises or demonstrations it is helpful to show how the results from various computational choices of the discriminant function procedure may be equated without resorting to advanced concepts or procedures. This paper shows how the results from a solution using the pooled within sum of squares and cross-products matrix may be equated to the results from a multiple-regression procedure. A special case of a binomial inverse theorem is used to prove the relationship.
